Cervical spine artificial disc replacement and plate fusion

Cervical spine animation depicts a cervical disc herniation type injury and a step by step surgical procedure of a one level discectomy, followed by two different types of surgical approaches. An artificial disc replacement implant and a traditional titanium plate fusion which includes the Cage, the Infuse Bone Graft, Screws and Medtronics plate instrumentation. Also depicted is a side by side comparison between the traditional plate type fusion and a Prestige artificial disc replacement which demonstrates a preservation of some cervical intervertebral motion.
